Amazon Keynote Speaker to Kickoff Opening General Session

The Opening General Session (OGS) at SATELLITE is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the satellite industry, regularly attracting the biggest audience of the year to hear from top ‘influencers’ about the road ahead. Last year, we saw Neil Masterson, CEO of OneWeb, make his public speaking debut at the session. And who could forget Jeff Bezos making an appearance a few years ago talking about a Blue Origin/Eutelsat launch deal?

This year, yet again, we are bringing something exciting and fresh to the panel. One of the common themes we have been hearing over the last year is, “we want to hear more from Amazon.” Its ‘Kuiper’ Low Earth Orbit satellite network project has been somewhat shrouded in secrecy, but as we move into a more ‘constellation’ focused era, the role of Amazon is one of the fascinating sub-plots taking place.

Well, we are delighted to announce that Amazon Senior Vice President of Devices & Services, Dave Limp, will be joining us on stage as a keynote speaker. We all want to know about Kuiper, and we will no doubt find out more during this session. We all know Amazon has huge ambitions and deep pockets, but we also know the space sector is not exactly lacking in ambition right now. The big question is ultimately, “can the world sustain the number of constellations planned, and can companies, even Amazon, make good on very complex business plans to connect people and businesses around the world?” It will be a fascinating way to kick off the OGS.

If you’re coming to SATELLITE, the Tuesday OGS is simply a ‘must-attend’ event. What happens there will reverberate across the industry for days, weeks, and months afterward. We’ll also welcome to the OGS stage for the first time, Eva Berneke, Eutelsat’s CEO, who has wasted no time in putting her stamp on Eutelsat, and Intelsat’s new CEO, David Wajsgras, among others talking about the future of the industry. Having Dave Limp as part of the content experience will no doubt provide a new edge to the SATELLITE experience.

All SATELLITE attendees are invited to join us on Tuesday, March 14th, when the OGS will once again be the center of the satellite world. We look forward to seeing you there. Click here to register now!
